Spring Cleaning with the Spring Youth Gathering

After a long winter here in Northeast Ohio, the sanctuary was due for a Spring cleaning! The ground was muddy, sticks littered the yard, and the animal residents were out and about. Fostering Horses Through Happy Trails

I had owned Quarter Horses for years and when my last horse had to be put down due to age issues (she was 29 years old!) I decided to sponsor a couple of horses at Happy Trails. With my sponsorship donation, I was invited to the farm to meet with the horses I had sponsored. During my visit, I had asked one of the volunteers if they needed barn space - to which that question was met by a commanding, "Yes!” Read More->

Almost a year ago to the day, I was given a life-changing experience via my very first introduction to a young, pink farm pig. Fortunately, being plucked from a local hog farm, this little piggy didn’t go to market; rather, she landed safely at Happy Trails Farm Animal Sanctuary touching many lives along the way. We always enjoy new visitors at the sanctuary and last Sunday we had the pleasure of meeting with Chardon’s very own 4H group, Ride With Pride. As you may have guessed, horses were the big topic of the afternoon, and boy, did we get a lot done! Read More->
