Way back when, Happy Trails:
1. ...rescued Scarlett the farm pig when she fell off a meat truck on the highway in Turmbull County, and suffered many aches and pains and severe road burn.
2. ...rescued Pippy Longstocking from a neglect situation in Medina County
3. ...rescued Cap'n Butler

when he was found when he was only several weeks old, nearly dead, in the tall weeds near a hiking trail in Canal Fulton.
So what happens to the farm pigs after they are rehabilitated and rescued?
Most continue to live at the sanctuary or move on to other sancturies. It's great having the big pigs at Happy Trails to help visitors experience such magnificant creatures up close and personal and to get to pet and touch them. They also help to educate visitors about the animal cruelty that happens to pigs on factory farms.
A few farm pigs have been lucky enough to have been adopted by wonderful homes who welcomed them into their lives as their family pets. This is one such story - a wonderful story of three loving and happy pigs, who now bring great joy into the lives of their adoptive parents, Olivia and Justin Schlosser-Hogue. Olivia has kindly shared her blog and short videos with us, and we would like to share them with you! Olivia and Justin also rescued another farm piggy on their own (named Gretal) to add to their pink managerie!
