Happy Trails would like to thank all the news media who so graciously cover the stories, happenings, and special events as well as the day-to-day challenges that face animal rescue sanctuaries.
We would especially like to acknowledge Akron Beacon journalist, Connie Bloom, who has covered news of Happy Trails from day one when we were simply a blip on the radar screen and an organization that was just a mere fraction past being a thought and a unique idea. Connie helped her readers monitor the growth of Happy Trails, and helped to keep rescued animals a trendy and important topic here in Northeast Ohio. Connie's last column this past week once again featured Happy Trails. Why is this last column so very special? Because it truly is her last — Connie has officially retired from the Akron Beacon Journal this past week. Connie's unique writing style and her love of animals drew her into the hearts of hundreds of thousands of readers, who eagerly sought out her column regularly. We are hoping that a kindred spirit at the Beacon will want to continue Connie's good works of helping Happy Trails spread compassion and kindness for all animals, and that the next reporter will want to continue to cover stories about Happy Trails regularly as well. Many many thanks Connie, because it was you who helped put Happy Trails on the map, and in the minds, of your readers and animal-lovers across our great state! Congratulations on your retirement, your wedding and your new art studio, from all of us here at Happy Trails!
